Hogan's positions aren't 'squishy' [Letter]

I am always amazed by The Sun's editorial page; your recent piece about "shadow boxing" is a winner ("Shadow boxing in the Md. governor's race," Sept. 3).

While being critical of Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown for his lack of substance, you backhand Larry Hogan for his "squishy" position on the Maryland Dream Act.

I thought if a is law passed, it's the duty of the governor and other elected officials to uphold it whether or not they like it. Is it really "squishy" for Mr. Hogan to say that even though he disagrees with the Dream Act he would uphold it?

The one big misrepresentation you make, at least by omission, is that Mr. Hogan is not only running against Mr. Brown but also against The Sun. Would anyone think after reading this piece that The Sun might actually endorse Mr. Hogan? Fat chance.
