Supergirl for the modern era

Great news that comic book publishers will be adding to the existing line-up of female superheroes ("Supergirl power," March 27)!

However, have they considered that most of the new characters look quite attractive and fit, which is probably irreparably damaging the self-images of impressionable adolescent females? And that most superhero challenges still involve reprehensible manly violence to solve?

Why not anticipate and respond to this before such damage is inflicted by releasing comics featuring less attractive, non-athletic female superheroes, rocking comfortable sweat shirts, Uggs and Birkenstocks with wool socks as they confront super villains on issue like animal rights and free WiFi?
