Don't believe the ads: Andy Harris is no friend of Medicare

U.S. Rep Andy Harris held a town hall meeting in Bel Air Wednesday night. Marijuana legalization was a major topic of discussion, and some audience members got into a heated debate with the representative.

Note the election year irony the large ads running in local media (paid for by the American Action Network, a nonprofit not required to disclose its donors and without restrictions on the amount of money it can raise from individuals and corporations) touting Rep. Andy Harris' continuing fight in support of protecting Medicare.

What unmitigated gall!

Is this not the same Andy Harris who voted not once but twice (HR 112 and HR 34) in support of ending Medicare as we know it and replacing it with vouchers? Is this the same Andy Harris who voted for HR 876, HR 96, HR 4015, and HR 1190, all deemed as unfavorable to consumers by Medicarevotes.org? The same Andy Harris who scored a whopping 0 percent from the Alliance for Retired Americans? The Andy Harris who believes, in spite of these pandering ads, that Medicare still needs to be redesigned for those 54 and younger so that they will have a "premium subsidy option" i.e. vouchers, which would ultimately strip support away from and harm Medicare's long term solubility?

Senior voters in the First District do have a choice. Just say no to Andy Harris.
