Harris isn't 'pro-life' when it comes to guns

Despite overwhelming bipartisan support and continued mass shootings across this country, Rep. Andy Harris continues to oppose common sense gun regulations that could save lives — and this despite his continued assertions that he is a "pro-life" Republican ("The NRA's America," June 22).

It's clear that he won't change course because the NRA has given him over $20,000 to focus his time on more important things, like seeking to overturn the District of Columbia's legalization of pot, opposing the naming of a post office after Maya Angelou and urging schools to ignore the president's call to respect the gender identities of LGBT students.

Tougher gun laws could have prevented the deaths of two Harford County police officers this year. Their killer had a criminal record for domestic abuse and stalking, and he even shot his ex-wife in the neck. Moreover he had an outstanding warrant for assaulting another police officer in Florida.

Despite all of this, he was able to purchase the gun he used to kill those officers legally. Is this what #HarfordStrong looks like?
