The GOP plan to replace Obamacare could help define Donald Trump's presidency.
The U.S. House of Representatives just voted 217-213 to "repeal and replace" the Affordable Care Act ("Anxiety spreads over GOP health plan for those with serious illnesses," May 5). Rep. Andy Harris, the Republican who represents Maryland's 1st Congressional District, voted yes. Dr. Harris voted on a bill that impacts nearly 20 percent of our economy without hearings, discussion with stakeholders or a Congressional Budget Office analysis.
The congressman voted with incomplete information about the impacts of this legislation. He voted based on raw politics and partisanship, not what is best for his constituents or the nation. You own this, Dr. Harris. We'll remember in November of 2018.
