Gun control doesn't work

In Baltimore, one of every three people struck by gunfire dies. That means it ranks as the most lethal of America’s largest cities, according to a Baltimore Sun analysis. (Baltimore Sun video)

I am amazed that The Sun's editorial board is not curious as to how all of Gov. Martin O'Malley's gun control has failed to drop the crime rate and use of guns in Baltimore ("Baltimore awash in guns," Sept. 9). All these laws do is punish law abiding gun owners and do nothing to prevent crime.

But that was the purpose of the laws. They sure were not to promote gun safety or fight crime. Look at Chicago for another example of strict gun control and off-the-charts gun violence. Criminals do not obey laws, and somehow this is lost on all of you so-very-intelligent members of the Fourth Estate and ruling class.
