A recent Dan Rodricks column described the gun violence in Baltimore and how many firearms have been seized by police ("Police making more arrests in gun-infested Baltimore," May 7).
There is also an increase of gun violence in Anne Arundel County, where I live. Additionally, there has been an increase of the same type of violence in Annapolis.
The laws so proudly passed at the recommendation of former Gov. Martin O'Malley and state lawmakers have proven ineffective. In fact, the only people who can't obtain guns are citizens who obey the laws.
Those laws should be repealed. There should also be changes in local laws and in the state and federal constitutions allowing term limits for legislators and the ability to have a recall vote.
This would cause legislators to carefully review all pending laws, especially those that try to bypass the U.S. Constitution, or face the will of the people.
