Not surprisingly, national and local Republican officeholders are falling in line to become Donald Trump's sycophants, all in the name of party unity ("Republicans rally around Trump with no Hogan in sight," May 14).
We can only hope that House Speaker Paul Ryan and Gov. Larry Hogan have enough integrity to resist. Mr. Trump has shown himself to be vulgar, juvenile, narcissistic and untruthful; he has no regard for the Constitution, history, facts or science; and he has no coherent policies on anything.
Ironically, the GOP could survive four years of Hillary Clinton, but it will not survive four years of Donald Trump.
Voters have good reason to critically evaluate the character of anyone holding or running for office who thinks that Mr. Trump is fit to be president of the United States, and we need to start asking that question now.
