I am a 21-year-old man who is neither gay nor atheist. I believe everyone should have the right to marry whomever they want, without interference from people who object on religious grounds. I am sick and tired of religious people protesting the right of gay people to get married. What business is it of theirs?
Just because some religion says its immoral or against God? What a poor excuse that is. This country was not founded so religious people could use their religion and "God's word" to dictate how other people live. This country was founded upon the freedom to choose which religion you want and how to practice it.
Even George Washington was quoted saying that "the government of the United States is not in any sense founded on the Christian religion."
The whole war for Independence was to separate us from the English government because its government and Church were basically one and the same. Our Founding Fathers fought to get rid of that system so we could enjoy the right to live how we want and marry who we want.
I believe in equality for everyone, not just those who think they are morally superior because they follow an organized religion.
