Gansler fails test as parent, AG and citizen

As they say on Saturday Night Live, Really! As a parent and grandparent who has had teen parties at my home while I was away, I can tell you that I would not vote for Douglas F. Gansler for anything ("Gansler says he made 'a mistake,'" Oct. 25). His job was to call the police in Delaware. I also rent a condo in Bethany Beach each summer, and the contract specifically states that rentals are not made to students, so I guess they lied or got parents to sign the lease who will now be responsible for damage. Lesson learned.

Every adult has a legal and moral obligation to report such under-age drinking parties. They certainly are responsible if it is on their property and their child remains their responsibility until age 18. Therefore, liability will rest with the parents if the participants leave and cause damage, injury or death.

I am very disappointed in Mr. Gansler's behavior as a dad, attorney general and citizen.
