Your editorial ("Fracking deserves a pause," March 25) got it right on all counts. Fracking simply does not mesh well with our tourist industry in Western Maryland.
As one who has enjoyed the riches of our state west of I-270, I shudder to think of what would become of these amenities should Western Maryland be open to fracking. I also question the health impacts that come with this industry, and this moratorium will provide a window to study those impacts as the industry degrades our water and air quality.
Bravo to The Sun for leading us in the right direction on this issue.
