Baltimore can't afford mayor's feud with Hogan

No one in Baltimore including Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake is in any position to feud with Gov. Larry Hogan ("Mayor feuds with Hogan," June 17). This city is an embarrassment! I witnessed the "disturbances" on TV and also saw the destruction in my area. The looting, vandalism and arson were despicable. Sure, protests are fine — I've actually organized a few — but these were not protests.

When the Maryland National Guard and Maryland State Police arrived in "Charm City" to calm things down, we all drew a breath of relief. So if Governor Hogan wants to assist in rebuilding liquor stores that were attacked and destroyed, so what? After all, these are legitimate businesses.

If they can't get loans, perhaps the owners should suggest, "OK, I'll not rebuild, don't give me that loan but just buy me out." And then add in all the property damage and lost revenue.
