Restoring the voting rights of people who have committed a felony and served their sentence is a topic well worthy of discussion ("Md. governor can help Baltimore now," May 13).
However, I take issue with the term "ex-felon." One has either committed a felony or one has not.
If someone commits murder and is convicted of that crime, they do not become an ex-murderer after they have completed their sentence.
Another right you lose when you commit a felony is the right to own a firearm. Should ex-felons have that right restored as well?
