I applaud Gov. Larry Hogan's recent decision to repeal the monthly fee for EZ-pass users ("Hogan announces toll reductions in Maryland," May 7).
It never made sense to implement such a fee in the first place. Any system that not only saves the state money by reducing the need for costly human toll collectors but also reduces traffic delays should be encouraged. Maryland is now in line with the many neighboring states that already offer EZ-pass without a user fee.
