Third-party candidates show great potential

Thanks for your balanced editorial on Sheila Dixon's announcement this week that she will run for Baltimore City mayor as a write-in candidate ("The lesson of Dixon's write-in campaign," Oct. 11).

However, in marked contrast to the bulk of the mainstream media, you made it abundantly clear that there are four candidates for mayor this year. To its credit, the Green Party is running excellent candidates up and down the ticket.

In my view Josh Harris is eventual presidential material, and anyone who has seen Jill Stein answer the same debate questions as Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton can see what a mistake the Presidential Debate Commission made by not including her or the Libertarian Party.
