Sun wrong to lionize a dirt biker

Glorifying dirt bikes? ("In popular – but illegal – Baltimore dirt bike scene, female rider makes waves," Nov. 7.) And on the front page? Horrible editorial call! I was apoplectic when I retrieved my morning paper and saw the lionization of the illegal and extremely dangerous activities my fellow city dweller performs. The ridiculous hook that "The Wheelie Queen" is (wait for it) a woman made the story no more appropriate or interesting.

Have you been crossing a street when one or more of these dirt bikers has sped by performing their delightful and fun-loving hijinks? Have you had to slam on your breaks and sit in the stunned realization that you nearly killed one of these darling tricksters as they flew through a red light in front of your car?

I am furious that you plastered this story on the front page as if this woman is some sort of renegade hero. And, while I am plenty critical of the Baltimore Police Department and their unlawful use of force against our citizens, it is irresponsible and wrong for The Sun to celebrate criminal activity.
