I saw the huge headline, "Debate brings barrage of attacks" (Sept. 27), in The Sun. I thought all networks had the same feed because the debate I watched sure was not the one your headline reported.
I suspect the average person viewing the debate could care less about debating "style points," follow up responses, pompous glares, a person taking a drink while the other speaks and similar actions of the people directly involved. Or for that matter, who won (with emphasis on won). They probably are not interested in what a debate coach would say.
They did, however, see two different people in that debate. And for that, the public should thank Donald Trump and the first Republican primary debate. Whether one likes or dislikes Mr. Trump, that first debate sparked interest in the voting process. Voters can now see for themselves and can make up their own minds without the "we-know-it all" analysis of TV commentators, editorial writers for newspapers or what this panel or that panel thinks about the debate.
