I read the poignant article "Final choices" (Feb. 15) about Richard Israel's terminal illness, and I would urge the General Assembly and Gov. Larry Hogan to approve this bill. I realize for some that voting for the bill would be a difficult decision; however for those who wish aid in dying, it would show great compassion and mercy. In the prime of life, without pain and suffering, your own demise is but a distant abstraction; however when we all reach the end game Mr. Israel is facing, we may wish for this humane choice.
