Baltimore's leaders are again speaking of how to manage the fact that the city's newly appointed police commissioner may after just a few months on the job be entitled to a large buy-out like the excessive severance pay former commissioner Anthony Batts got ("Anthony Batts says police 'took a knee' after Baltimore riots," Sept. 2).

The taxpayers of Baltimore are really taking a beating.
