I must disagree with your report "All 5 killed in Dallas shooting named; newlywed, Iraq veteran among victims" (July 9).
These brave officers did not "give" their lives. Their lives were taken by a criminal who had no regard for human life.
These officers put their lives on the line, but they wanted to live as much as the next person. They overcome their sense of personal survival for the greater good of the community.
