The fact that the Baltimore City Council advanced the Port Covington deal gives credence to the fact that a big business tycoon who has been successful in manufacturing athletic uniforms has now become successful in conning many Baltimore citizens into approving a $660 million loan for public bonds issued by the City Council to help pay for his project ("Baltimore officials approve $100 million community benefits deal with Port Covington developers," Sept. 14).
This business deal has a terrible odor of political moral bankruptcy. A big business mogul and associates are buying off the politicians making lots of money for themselves and their investors at the expense of the innocent citizens of Baltimore.
Once again, the formula of power — big bucks — morally bankrupting politicians prevails. Another victory for big business and defeat for Baltimore citizens. What a shame!
