Hypocrisy ran rampant at Dems' convention

Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts speaks at the Democratic National Convention. More coverage at latimes.com/trailguide.

At the Democratic National Convention this week Sens. Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders extolled the limitless Washington disgraces that they expect Hillary Clinton, their party's presidential nominee, to end.

But why didn't President Barack Obama do it? Clearly, the Democrats have no one to blame but themselves. And the excesses have multiplied during Mr. Obama's two terms.

Divisiveness? Who's been most responsible for the divide between blacks and whites, and among African-Americans themselves, or between rich and poor than Barack Obama? He exacerbated a polarized nation, yet his wife says he did the opposite.

And then there's Ms. Clinton's health care plan, which was germinated and was discarded as unworkable when she was first lady. But Mr. Obama seized the moment, foisting it off as his own upon an unsuspecting public. Today, medical costs are beyond our capacity to pay them.

Those who don't need insurance coverage have to buy it; doctors can't make any money under insurance company domination; and nobody gets the amount of medical attention they deserve.

Did I mention that the cost of Obamacare is increasing by 13 percent this year — or that Ms. Clinton's pandering for Wall Street's largesse is exactly what Senators Warren and Sanders are decrying?

Michelle Obama told us that in this great America she was able to raise her daughters the way she wanted. She didn't mention that "discriminatory" America allowed her kids to frolic on the White House lawn, allowed her to rise out of the gutter of obscurity to become rich and demand a personal staff larger than that of any first lady in history. Talk about Washington insiders profiting from the system!
