While I am in total agreement with The Sun's view that the Confederate flag should be removed from Maryland license plates ("Retire the Stars and Bars," June 23), I was astounded that half the respondents in your reader poll saw nothing wrong with states continuing to fly it over government buildings.
I had hope there would have been nearly unanimous agreement that flying the Confederate flag is no longer representative of either our state or our national values.
