Who are you calling 'elderly?'

Descriptions of candidates as 'elderly' do a disservice to older Americans

In the article, "Clinton's health goes mainstream" (Sept. 11) GOP strategist Katie Packard, who claims to support no candidate (which makes her a heck of a GOP strategist) makes the statement: "Both candidates are elderly" as Donald Trump is 70 and Hillary Clinton is 68.

I am 72 years old. I try and keep as fit as I can, walking several miles a day, going to the gym and doing other crazy things an elderly person should not be doing. Now that I am considered elderly, I will have to curtail my activities to things like just watching TV and hiring a dog walker, canceling my gym membership and definitely no more dancing the Hokey Pokey.

I also feel more tired now that I'm elderly. Wow, all this typing has worn me out. Think I'll go take a nap!
