Pillorying Hillary while the Bush gang gets off scot free

I know this is the political season of blood sport but isn't it a ridiculous double standard to conflate Hillary Clinton's breach of security involving email yet allow former president George W. Bush to escape all responsibility and accountability for his pointless invasion of Iraq?

A breach of security in Ms. Clinton's email may or may not have jeopardized national security. But we know that the invasion of Iraq based on falsified statements and cooked intelligence estimates cost some 4,500 American lives and 32,000 wounded. Not to mention the war killed half a million Iraqis and cost $2 trillion.

Meanwhile, Iraq today is by any standard worse off than it was even under Saddam Hussein. Otherwise there wouldn't be 2 million people trying to flee the country.

There have been at least seven letters to The Sun castigating Ms. Clinton for her email use. Yet Mr. Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, CIA Director George Tenet and former National Security Advisory and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice all completely escaped punishment for their misdeeds.

Where were all the indignant individuals like former Rep. Helen Bentley when it became apparent that the Bush invasion had jeopardized any chances for stability or peace in the Middle East in our lifetimes?

A much more productive conversation would be ask Ms. Clinton to explain why she voted to support the invasion of Iraq in the first place.
