It must be the rarefied air in Government House, the governor's mansion in Annapolis, that inspires such notions in second term governors of Maryland. In January of 2002, Parris Glendening urged the Maryland General Assembly to end the AIDS epidemic in Africa. Now, in July of 2013, Martin O'Malley commands the citizens of Maryland to change the weather ("O'Malley steps up climate agenda," July 26).
The frightening part is that they may actually believe this malarkey. Or, if they don't believe it, that they are so cynical as to foist it upon the public for their own political gain.
