Two recent mentions in The Sun about Dr. Ben Carson contradict one another.
First, Dr. Carson is no longer a state resident ("Ben Carson enters growing field for GOP nomination," May 3). He has evidently retired to Florida as have quite a few affluent former Maryland residents to avoid the onerous state taxes on income and estates.
Yet in a Sun Poll question ("Carson or O'Malley for pres?" May 4), Dr. Carson is called a "Marylander" running for president in the Republican race versus Martin O'Malley who may be running in the Democratic race. That reference is half-right since there has been no news of Mr. O'Malley leaving the state yet. Hope springs eternal.
Careful editing seems to be in order in this case.
