Iraq story cost Brian Williams his credibility

Brian Williams has destroyed his credibility as a journalist.

What was NBC News anchor Brian Williams thinking when he told the story about his being shot down over Iraq in 2003 ("Brian Williams takes leave from NBC anchor desk," Feb. 7)?

The fabricated incident not only calls into question his credibility but that of his network as well.

While I appreciate that the evening news is a highly competitive business, with three major networks vying for ratings, for a news presenter to embellish the facts is certainly not a plus for NBC.

NBC would be wise to terminate him.
