Maryland not in dire straits, Mr. Hogan

I just saw a factoid on Bloomberg that rates on Maryland bonds are the second lowest in the nation. That means it cost Maryland less than just about every state in the nation to borrow using state bonds, which of belies Gov. Larry Hogan's droned message that he inherited a fiscal mess from his predecessor ("Hogan funds pensions but nothing more for schools," May 15).

I have come to the conclusion that while Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake is composed and fairly well spoken, she has no vision. She is not William Donald Schaefer. But even worse is the governor who leads with political rhetoric and lets that guide his actions. It trumps any caring for people he may have.
