I am writing in response to the commentary, "Cardin, don't tie U.S. hands for Israel" (April 22), in support of the right of any government to limit its commercial ties to any country that has a pattern of grave human rights abuses. In this case, Israeli bombing of civilians including of schools and hospitals in July 2014 was the final straw.
How long will the world be silent in the face of such brutality? We mourn the victims of the Holocaust and we agree that Never Again is the goal. Never Again means never again to any human being, regardless of race, religion or ethnicity. Collective guilt over the Holocaust can not justify atrocities today.
