Protect the bees, Mr. Hogan

Michael Dresser's article in The Baltimore Sun regarding legislation still pending in Annapolis was excellent ("Dozens of bills await Hogan's decision as deadline nears," May 26), except that it omitted the Pollinator Protection Act of 2016, a bill very important to our honey bees, the continuing large loss of hives among Maryland beekeepers due to "Colony Collapse Disorder," food production, and Maryland agriculture.

Gov. Larry Hogan should not veto this bill. Should that happen, the General Assembly would then have to override his veto in January 2017, and that would cause a one-year delay in institution of the important new policies contained in the legislation.
