For the most part, letter writer Brian Spector is correct in stating that professional athletes and entertainers are not worthy of serious consideration as role models ("Entertainers and athletes are not 'role models,'" Oct. 4).
However, I would not go so far as to write them all off as unworthy. I'll give you one really good example: Baltimore's own Cal Ripken Jr.
