Democrats' taxes will make Maryland a red state

With the Maryland General Assembly back in session, it hasn't taken the Democrats long to start talking about raising our taxes. There's no excuse for them being so out of touch with the people they represent. Many people are struggling to hold onto their houses. They're unemployed or under-employed. Some have had to take a pay cut or work fewer hours, which means they have less money for necessities. The people are tightening their belts as much as they can, and the government expects them to fork over more of their income.

Some Democrats wants to raise gasoline taxes by 15 cents a gallon and triple the so-called flush tax from $30 to $90. Gov.Martin O'Malleyeven floated the idea of raising the sales tax again. The Transportation Trust Fund is empty because the governor keeps taking the money out and using it to cover his ever-increasing spending. He is doing the same thing with the Chesapeake Bay Restoration Fund. How come the government never does with less?

The private sector is under assault by the Democrats in Annapolis like never before. Maryland has been a blue state for so long the Democrats think they can do whatever they want with impunity. In case they haven't noticed, state governments across the country are turning redder with each election, and it's only a matter of time before the straw is going to break the camel's back here in Maryland.
