More ACC coverage, please

Now that that the college athletic season is upon us, please report more fully on the ACC ("Maryland-North Carolina considered marquee matchup of ACC-Big Ten Challenge," Aug. 11). Since Maryland moved to the Big Ten, giving UM and its new conference full coverage is understandable. However, the ACC is a major conference with teams in neighboring states. Many alumni of UNC, Duke, Virginia and North Carolina State are subscribers to The Sun and we would like to know what's happening.

Particularly in basketball. No conference has produced more national champions than the ACC since it was created in 1957. Last year, the ACC tournament received poor coverage and the championship tournament was reported with small, incomplete stories in the interior of the sports section. This poor coverage is particularly ironic since Duke, UNC and Virginia were nationally ranked all season and Duke won the national championship.

Please remember us readers who are still loyal to the ACC, as well as to Maryland.
