Accuser in sex assault case should be named

In a report on three midshipmen at the U.S. Naval Academy accused of sexually assaulting a female classmate, you write that "The Baltimore Sun does not identify alleged victims in sexual assault cases" ("Midshipman describes night of drinking before alleged sex assault," Aug. 28).

Why not? This person can ruin the lives of multiple midshipmen who may or may not have taken advantage of her inebriation.

If she wants to tell her story, she should not be allowed to do it anonymously.
