Speaker Boehner is not really cooperating

To hear Speaker of the House John Boehner say that the president has not been willing to cooperate with the Republicans makes me wonder if I am in Alice's Wonderland where words mean what the person saying them wants them to mean ( "The Ohio two-step," July 26).

To Speaker Boehner, "cooperate" must mean that President Obama must give in to whatever the tea party/Republicans want. President Obama has gone so far as to offer up the entitlement programs that have meant so much to Democrats and all Americans, but that is not enough "cooperation." Where was this willingness to drag the economy over the cliff in order to stop spending when George W. Bush was in the White House? Could the difference be, not the situation, but the person occupying the White House?
