U.S. Powerboat Show

Through today, Oct. 19: The United States Powerboat Show, the world's oldest in-water powerboat show, will be held at the City Dock in Annapolis. All-night fencing

Race for the Cure

Next Sunday, Oct. 26: Susan G. Komen Maryland presents its 22nd annual Komen Maryland Race for the Cure in Hunt Valley to honor, celebrate and memorialize those affected by breast cancer throughout the state. The Race is composed of a 5K (3.1-mile) competitive run (timed), a 5K recreational run, a 5K walk and a 1-mile family fun walk. Register online at komenmd.org/2014 or by calling 410-433-RACE (7223).

Trick-or-Trot

Nov. 1: The Orioles, OriolesREACH and manager Buck Showalter and his wife, Angela, are joining forces with KidsPeace to host the fifth annual Trick-or-Trot 5K/1-Mile Walk, a Halloween-themed race to benefit children in foster care. The race will begin and end at Oriole Park. Costumes are encouraged, and prizes will be awarded for top runners, age-group winners, fundraising teams and best costumes. The registration fee is $35 through Oct. 27 and $40 on race day. Register at kidspeace5k.org. All proceeds benefit KidsPeace Foster Care and Community Programs of Maryland and Washington, including KEYS (KidsPeace Empowering Youth to Succeed), a program that prepares youth for independence through life-skills training. Join a B.A.S.S. club

Nov. 4: The Pro-Formance Fishing Team, a member of the Maryland BASS Nation, is seeking additional members and will hold an introductory meeting 6 p.m. at Mamma Lucia Restaurant in Hanover. The club is located primarily in the Glen Burnie and Annapolis but has membership throughout the state. PFT fishes 12 club tournaments a year and participates in MBN and other tournaments. Hurd 5K Run

Nov. 8: The sixth-annual Heather L. Hurd 5K Run and 1 Mile Fun Walk will take place at 9 a.m. at Harford Community College in Bel Air. The race honors the memory of Heather L. Hurd, a history major at HCC from 1999 to 2003, who was killed in 2008 by a distracted driver who was texting. For more information, go to harford.edu/heather or call 443-412-2449.

Bay Fall Classic
