Veteran talk show host Tom Marr is off the air at WCBM indefinitely after suffering a stroke over the weekend, the station said today.

"In the early hours of July 3rd, Tom Marr suffered a stroke due to complications from a recent surgical procedure on his spine," a statement from the station quotes Marr's family as saying.

The 73-year-old Marr, who has been on Baltimore radio since the 1960s, has been with WCBM since 1988, according to the station.

"Bruce Elliott will fill in for Tom until he is able to return," WCBM program director Sean Casey said in the statement.
