WBAL-TV to start morning news at 4:30 a.m.

Starting Monday, WBAL-TV's morning news will begin at 4:30 instead of 5 a.m. each weekday, station manager Dan Joerres announced today.

Joerres says the Hearst-owned station is making the move in reaction to changes in work and lifestyle that finds viewers starting their days earlier.

Look for the earlier start to be heavily promoted Saturday during the Ravens vs. Patriots playoff game and Sunday during the Golden Globes telecast -- two big audiences that will be tuned to WBAL because of the network programming from NBC.
