'Saturday Night Live' satirizes Ravens as team of criminals

If you are wondering how fallout from the Ray Rice elevator attack might affect the Ravens image, check out this "Saturday Night Live" skit depicting the team as criminals.

The Carolina Panthers, the team the Ravens play Sunday, was satirized in the same way last night, as well as the NFL and CBS Sports Jim Nantz and Phil Simms for their handling of the scandal.

It's disingenuous for SNL to be mocking CBS and not its own NBC Sports, which has the biggest NFL show on TV in "Sunday Night Football."

But the network stuff is spare change compared to the hit on the Ravens, Panthers and NFL.

"Accountability that's what the NFL is all about, and I think you'll see that reflected in today's player introductions," says Beck Bennett spoofing Nantz.

Ravens players then introduce themselves by their previous crimes — including manslaughter, treason and 'I brought an assault rifle to a barbecue' — not their positions.

Guest host Chris Pratt of "Guardians of the Galaxy" also appears as a Raven, confessing to "a whole bunch of stuff."

SNL also satirized two former Ravens, Ray Lewis and Shannon Sharpe, in another segment for the kind of analysis they have offered of league scandals.

Take a look and judge for yourself how you feel about the Ravens now facing such ridicule.
