Jerry Coleman leaving 105.7 The Fan

Jerry Coleman, who grew up in Pikesville, co-hosts the 6 a.m.-10 a.m. slot on 105.7 The Fan, in addition to reporting on the Orioles and Ravens.
*Correction: A previous version of this gallery incorrectly said Jerry Coleman was a former 105.7 personality. The Sun regrets the error.

Jerry Coleman is leaving WJZ-FM 105.7 The Fan, the sports reporter announced this week.

"Want to thank everyone @105.7TheFan. It was a fun run! But time to move onto my next chapter. More details to come when I catch my breath," he wrote Monday morning on his Twitter account.

Coleman confirmed the news to The Sun. He was mum on details but said his departure was cordial.

"We're parting ways amicably," Coleman said in a private Twitter exchange. "Was told my contract isn't being renewed."

Representatives from the station did not immediately respond to requests for comment Tuesday from The Sun.

Coleman, a Pikesville native, served as The Fan's on-field reporter for Orioles and Ravens games. He previously worked as assistant program director at Fox Sports Radio 1370 in Baltimore and hosted the afternoon show "Sports with Coleman." He got his start in radio as a Redskins beat reporter for SportsTalk 980 (ESPN 980) in Washington, D.C.
