It seems like I have been talking about the sins of Brian Williams for months and months.
Oh, yeah, I have.
Here's a conversation I had this morning with Howard Kurtz on "Media Buzz" in which I talked about the "tortured moral reasoning" that NBC used in saying Williams wasn't worthy to be on NBC News, but he was OK for MSNBC as its new anchor on breaking news.
The screwy reasoning continued with NBC stressing that most of the lies told by Williams were not done on "NBC platforms" -- as if that makes them any less a lie.
I say a lie is a lie and liar is a liar.
And at least one of those lies did take place on a big NBC platform, "NBC Nightly News," which Williams used to anchor and run as managing editor -- before the lie he told about him being under heavy fire in Iraq in 2003 was exposed by "Stars & Stripes" military publication in February.
