Barry Levinson signs on with new Jennifer Lopez cop drama for NBC

Barry Levinson has signed on to direct the pilot and and serve as an executive producer on a new Jennifer Lopez police drama planned to air on NBC in 2015.

The series titled "Shades of Blue" will star Lopez as a discredited cop who is recruited by the F.B.I. to work undercover on its anti-corruption task force, according to "Hollywood Reporter," which reported the deal.

The hourlong drama has a one-season guarantee of 13 episodes from NBC. Ryan Seacrest and Lopez are among several other executive producers.
