I think that if you blame anyone, you will have to blame Gary Kirchherr.

Some months ago, when I was tweeting the maxims or apothegms or what-have-you of The Old Editor, Mr. Kirchherr commented to the effect that if I collected them in a book, he would buy it. Now you'll see what loose talk leads to.

My manuscript for The Old Editor Says has been accepted by Apprentice House, the student-operated publishing house at Loyola University Maryland. It will be a small book, a handful of pages, each with one Old Editor statement fleshed out in a couple of paragraphs of commentary and explanation.

I haven't yet examined the contract and cannot tell you precisely what the publishing schedule will be. Plans are for the text to go to design in the fall, so it will certainly be some several months before the book will become available. I'll alert (warn?) you as publication looms.
