I will be talking with Sheilah Kast at Maryland Morning on WYPR-FM (88.1) tomorrow (Monday, February 9) around 9:40 a.m., plus or minus a few minutes. It will be about the things I usually talk about. If you miss the chat in the morning, the interview will be posted on the website later in the day.
I also plan to attend the American Copy Editors Society's national conference in Pittsburgh on March 26-28. The conference schedule has been posted, and the discounted early registration fee has been extended through February 13.
I'm also planning to attend the Editors' Association of Canada's international conference, Editing Goes Global, on June 12-14. The impressive schedule has been published, and among the offerings I will be presenting a workshop on working with metaphor, an updated version of one some of you may have seen, as well as participating on a panel with editors who are more distinguished than I am.
But wait; there's more. On Friday, May 8, I will be conducting a workshop, "Skeptical Editing," for the Maryland-Delaware-District of Columbia Press Association at The Baltimore Sun; $75 for MDDC members, $85 for non-members. Bring your skepticism with you.
Additionally, if you should be attend the ACES conference in Pittsburgh, the EAC conference in Toronto, or the MDDDC workshop in Baltimore, and you should happen to bring along you copy of The Old Editor Says, I am in a position to arrange for the author to autograph it.
