It's possible that singular they may also crop up during the panel discussion on "English: The Good, the Bad, and the Awkward" at the Editing Goes Global conference of the Editors' Association of Canada / Association Canadienne des Reviseurs in a couple of weeks. I'll be on that panel, and also conducting a session on dealing with inept and misguided metaphors
