A conflict-avoiding president [Letter]

As a registered Democrat, I support former Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr.'s dim view of how President Barack Obama has handled foreign policy challenges ("Obama, played for a fool," May 4).

Whether Mr. Obama can "change course" from his "conflict avoidance" posture in dealing with the world's bad actors appears doubtful. When future historians analyze his presidency, the defining word may be "present."
