Carson right to question IRS motives

Having read two of Dr. Ben Carson's books and seen him on television on many occasions, I find it hard to believe that his concerns about the Internal Revenue Service audit emanate from feelings of self-importance ("Ben Carson says he was targeted by IRS over his beliefs," Oct. 3). His career has served as an inspiration to many, not a demonstration of egotism.

Given the news over the last year about the appropriateness of IRS actions, many people would be asking the same questions as Dr. Carson.
