Even Thomas Schaller would agree that statistics don't lie ("The myth of 'liberal media bias,'" March 6). Liberals make up only 20 percent of the electorate, yet they dominate the media.
One only has to watch Judy Woodruff hyperventilate when speaking about guns to see how "unbiased' supposedly independent news organizations like the Public Broadcasting System are.
The New York Times, Washington Post, Huffington Post, Tribune and 99 percent of the other major print and online media all pander to the collective nanny state and its agenda.
In fact, there is only one counterbalance to the liberal domination of mainstream news outlets: The News Corporation. But even there most of what liberals attack on Fox News, for example, pertains to the network's opinion programs, not its news reporting.
But if one goes further to include the liberal leanings of our educational system, from grade school through college, and the almost total liberal domination of Hollywood, one wonders how the conservative resistance manages to survive, given that it exists only in the homes and country clubs of the people who actually pay the taxes that support our government.
While we are always free to have a constitutional convention to decide the issue, until we do, the notion that one class of people must support the rest is anathema to the very essence of our Constitution. The real life version of "Atlas Shrugged" is closer than ever.
