Susan Reimer decries the decision by the Susan G. Komen Foundation to stop funding Planned Parenthood (later rescinded), labeling it an attack on women's "reproductive freedoms" ("Week's events bear out suspicions about Komen," Feb. 4).

It makes no sense for the Komen Foundation, dedicated as it is to wiping out breast cancer, to funnel money to Planned Parenthood when research has established a risk factor between breast cancers and having an abortion.

Abortions at Planned Parenthood, the nation's biggest provider, number in the hundreds of thousands each year. So Komen's initial decision was not so oblivious towomen's healthissues after all.
